Let's Be Weird Together {Stuck?! Sketches August 15 Challenge}

We've got a very cool, unique new challenge over at Stuck?! Sketches. Here's the page I created with Laura's awesome sketch:

And here's the sketch.

Leave it to Tracee, and she'll find the most fun photo ops. We were in a Michael's store, and of course we found the perfect props for some silly pictures. I knew I wanted to use that black Camera paper, so that was my starting point. Next, I found that hexagon paper, which was from a We R Memory Keepers pad I bought a couple of years ago. The white Polaroid frames along the diagonal are Silhouette cut files. The green paper is from that same collection, and the blue paper, layered behind the green, is from a BasicGrey paper pad. I think the chipboard frame is by Crate Paper.

I knew I wanted to use some playful accents on my page, and I remembered I had these monkeys on an old sheet of BasicGrey paper from the Oliver collection. I cut them out and attached some brads in the shapes of mustache and eyeglasses to make them even more playful. I found the perfect title for my page in the form of a gold edged MAMBI chipboard piece.

Here's a shot of another Monkey, who I trimmed from the edge of the paper--it didn't matter that his legs were cut off because I was going to have him peeking out from behind the frame. The speech bubbles were cut from a Simple Stories Emoji Love  paper. They were almost the perfect color.

As I was building my page, I felt like it was too monochromatic and needed the playful punch of an extra color, so I added a bit of yellow. I had a tiny strip of that yellow grid paper in my stash of scraps, and it was just enough.

That bit of mesh was sitting on my desk, leftover from a prior layout, so I stuck it on my page. The "Making Memories" and gold heart chipboard pieces are also by MAMBI.

Here's a shot of that third monkey. I thought he'd be fun hanging by his tail from the hole in the tag.

This was certainly a fun sketch to work with. I hope you'll pop over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog and see the awesome pages by the rest of the team, and you'll definitely want to play for a chance to win prizes from our sponsors:

Love this color scheme, yellow does brighten it up, but not too much.
The hexagon paper is cool and monkeys too. I have some creatures left form Oliver collection, but I'm saving them for kids photos^^
